2nd Place, Non-Professional Fine Art, Other
“As Above, So Below”
Three groups of people walk under the magnificent sky: a single person, a couple, and an adult with child. Three different ways of human relating, and the omnipresent relationship between Man and Nature. They were not aware of me, nor likely of each other. I wonder if they were aware of the amazing scene above them?

1st Place, Non-Professional Advertising, Other
“Sky Glider”, Santa Cruz, CA 2009
The Sky Glider, is one of the rides at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk amusement park in California. The Boardwalk’s history is over 100 years old. The area was hard hit to a degree during the Depression and even World War II, but made a strong comeback during the fifties and sixties. The Sky Glider uses ski lifts and takes riders over the beach for a bird’s eye view.

Red Light River, Amsterdam

1st Place, Non-Professional Fine Art, Abstract
“Red Light River”, Amsterdam 2010
A reflection of Amsterdam’s infamous Red Light District, in one of the city’s many canals. You can just make out the blur of a duck, image-center.

3rd Place, Non-Professional Portraiture, Personality
“The Gadfly”
This man writes commentary on his industry, assuming the moniker ‘The Gadfly’. He is playful, mysterious, eccentric yet elegant. The photo was spontaneous, taken whilst traveling together in Barcelona. I captured his complex personality as he rested without pretense: A highly successful businessman and brilliant visionary known for his uncanny ability to observe and deliver what people want.

1st Place, Non-Professional Photojournalism, Travel/Tourism "Barcelona Opens T1 Terminal" June 2009, Barcelona El Prat airport opens its new T1 terminal. A rare experience of scuff-free floors and dizzying reflections. Some open spaces remain eerily vacant. Photos were taken September 2009.
